This bron e sculpture by Natee tarit is
aesthetically beautiful and features car ed
inscriptions on its surface e oking the
iewer s interpretation. The work was part
of the e hibition Žja Vu When the Sun
Rises in the West which e plores the
shifting frameworks between Western and
astern ci ili ations and uestions how
culture might look if historical e ents had
unfolded differently. Natee finds the spark
of inspiration from his isit to Naples taly
where he encounters a marble sculpture
that reminds him of one of the finest
images of the Buddha in the Walking
Buddha posture. This e perience marks
the beginning of his e ploration of the
connections between the two cultures.
