This work by Sakwut was created shortly after he graduated
from the aculty of Painting Sculpture and raphic Arts
at Silpakorn ni ersity. t marks a period in which he drew
strong inspiration from gon Schiele the renowned
Austrian artist. As a result many of his compositions from
this time focused on figurati e painting portraying people
in arious postures including self portraits with bold
precise brushwork and a powerful use of color. n this
particular piece the subject is a fellow artist Taiwijit
Phuengkasemsomboon. t is not only a portrait but also
incorporates Taiwijit s artistic style into the work. This can
be obser ed in the use of colors and lines which are
atypical of Sakwut s usual isual language.
