This oil painting could be described as
a delighted Suchao which is why it is so
intriguing. Normally Suchao s paintings
reflect melancholy through deep blue
tones. Howe er this particular piece
presents such a striking contrast through
its calm form and the use of warm colors
that create a sense of comfort rather than
sorrow.
He employs a dotting techni ue using
the tip of a palette knife which he calls
Hea enly ots. This techni ue recalls
the Pointillism style where small dots of
color are applied to form an image. The
painting depicts a uiet rural scene which
could be a rare glimpse of hope and joy
within Suchao s heart.
