The artwork ish by Prayat Pongdam portrays the simplicity of rural life through an image of a uatic animals. At the same time it
showcases the artist s refined skill in using isual elements to highlight the subject matter with sophistication. He chooses wood as
the base material combined with the woodcut printmaking techni ue which gi es the surface a rich te ture and allows the fish
forms to appear fluid and full of life. He then applies colors to deepen the mood and narrati e of the scene adding a touch of gold
leaf as one of his signature elements.
This work marks a pi otal moment in Prayat s creati e journey signaling his transition from painting to a fusion of woodcut
printmaking and painting a direction that would define much of his later work.
