Suchao Sisganes, after serving as an art teacher at Chulalongkorn
University Demonstration Secondary School, chose to leave his
teaching career and pursue freelance artistry until 1986. His work,
deeply inspired by his surroundings, is characterized by thick,
intricately layered colors and geometric shapes. His paintings
reflect the beauty of a humble life, with every brushstroke filled
with meaning and a harmonious blend of diverse shades. Many
of his works explore themes of hardship and sorrow, revealing
the raw emotions of the artist and exposing his inner struggles.
Tawee Nandakwang is a pivotal figure in Thai modern art history,
recognized for his mastery of painting and his pioneering role
in his era. His work elegantly captures portraits, still life, and

A distinguished student of Silpa Bhirasri, he earned diplomas
from Poh-Chang Academy of Arts, Silpakorn University, and
later, the Academy of Fine Arts in Rome (1960-1961). He taught
at Silpakorn University until his retirement and was named a
National Artist in 1990, the same year he received the ASEAN
Awards Outstanding Artist in Visual Arts.
Suchao's art is not concerned with depicting picturesque
landscapes, delicate flowers, or graceful women. Instead, it reflects
his personal struggles and focuses on the darker aspects of
life, with recurring images of siblings waiting for compassion, an
empty plate with fish bones, and dead trees. At first glance, his
art might seem simple, composed of basic shapes like triangles
